Midfielder Mohamed Sissoko has said that his confidence has received "a huge boost" after signing a new four-year contract with Liverpool FC.The 22-year-old Malian international put pen to paper on a deal that will tie him to the five-time European champions until 2011 and puts an end to speculation linking him with a possible move away from Anfield. "It was never in my thoughts to leave Liverpool," he told the club's official website. "It has obviously given me a huge boost to my confidence that the manager believes in me and wanted me to stay.

Liverpool FC captain Steven Gerrard and his deputy Jamie Carragher have signed new four-year contracts fresh from their second UEFA Champions League final with the club Midfielder Gerrard, 27, and versatile 29-year-old defender Carragher both came through the youth ranks at Liverpool and were part of the team that won the UEFA Cup in 2001 as well as the UEFA Champions League four seasons later, adding the UEFA Super Cup to their collection in both years. Bolton Wanderers FC have signed promising Liverpool FC midfielder Danny Guthrie on a season-long loan.The 20-year-old English youth international has made three Premier League appearances for Liverpool and, last December, saw 65 minutes of action in the 3-2 defeat by Galatasaray SK in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Guthrie spent the second half of the season on loan at second division Southampton FC, playing ten times.

Luis García may be missing from the Liverpool FC squad for the UEFA Champions League through injury but he is in Athens with the team and confident of a Liverpool victory.The Spanish international scored three goals in five matches in this season's competition before picking up a cruciate ligament injury in January. García says he believes that Liverpool can continue their excellent record in European Champion Clubs' Cup finals. Liverpool FC have said Dutch midfielder Boudewijn Zenden is "facing a race against time" to be fit for Wednesday's UEFA Champions League final against AC Milan after injuring his ankle in training on Thursday Reds manager Rafael Benítez today of the 30-year-old: "He's been treated by the doctor and the good news is the swelling is not that bad. We will need to see how it is after more checks [on Friday]. It will be difficult to say he will be fit for the final now, but I won’t say no yet. He is strong and determined and it may recover quickly. I still hope he will be OK.

Arsenal confirmed on Saturday that they had reached agreement to transfer their star striker Thierry Henry to Spanish giants Barcelona.
The four-year deal, believed to be worth 24 million euros (32 million dollars), will be subject to a medical and the completion of formalities which are expected in the next two or three days.
The 29-year-old Frenchman also confirmed the dramatic move saying that recent boardroom changes at the London club had convinced him it was time to go despite having signed a new contract just a year ago.
A statement on the Arsenal official website Saturday read: "Arsenal Football Club can confirm that it has reached an agreement with Barcelona for the transfer of Thierry Henry."
